Euthanasia . . . An Agonizing Decision
There are several things to keep in mind when making this decision.
Quality of Life
Foremost is to consider the quality of life of your animal companion. Are they suffering? Are they in pain? This becomes particularly tricky if your animal has alternating good and bad days or weeks.
Have you exhausted all medical options or are you facing a need to make a decision regarding a medical procedure such as chemotherapy or radiation? Have you gotten a second opinion? You know your animal best. What is your "gut feeling" regarding the situation?
Your Animal's Wishes
There is the option of asking your pet what their wishes are for their treatment. Informing them of their options is an important part of the process. This is where an Animal Communicator can make all the difference. It gives the owner peace of mind and oftentimes validation.
Animals Are Not Afraid Of Death
Remember that animals view death without all the fears and judgments that humans put on the process. Are you projecting your own fear of death on your pet? Animals know that the soul/spirit lives on and that death is only a transition. Working with animals has absolutely convinced me that this is the truth.
Honestly look at your reasons for prolonging your animal's life. Are you afraid of facing life without them? Is it hard for you to let go? To let go of an animal who is suffering when you need them to be there for you is the ultimate act of selflessness and love.
Your Bond is Never Broken
Sharing the transition can be a beautiful, loving, and transformational experience for you and your best friend. Even though your animal is not physically by your side any more, that doesn't necessarily mean that your bond and relationship are over. Life is full of magic, and animals are adept at creating it.
I would consider it an honor to work with you and your animal to give you the support and guidance to make a decision that is in the best interests of you both.
